Mrs. Sharnell Denise Houston was born on November 20, 1968 to Wilma Thomas and Ardee Johnson in San Leandro Memorial Hospital, San Leandro, California.
She was educated through the Oakland City school system and attended Skyline High School. She was a CNA in Texarkana, AR, homemaker and loving caring mother, grandmother and aunty to her children and others. She will be remembered for her smiles, personality, laughter and big bear hugs. She was passionate about natural hair and owned every hair product and scarf. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved to go out and play her Pokemon game, eating and fellowshipping, making sure her kids were ok and ensuring that no one dared messed with them.
She accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Oakland, California, under the leadership of Pastor Adolph Kelly and was a member of the choir. In later years she moved to Rancho Cordova, California where she united with Capital City SDA Church in Sacramento and was baptized. She married Willie Houston in Fair Oaks, California in June of 2012. She was a faithful believer until God called her home.
Sharnell will be missed by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Ardee Johnson, one aunt, Cherrie Thomas and two nephews Anthony Gowan and Stacey Hendrix. Her memory will be kept alive by her husband, Willie Houston of Rancho Cordova, CA, her two sons, Rodney Baker Jr. of Dallas, TX, Anthony (Samantha) Baker of San Leandro, CA, two daughters, Breanna Baker and Rickayla Brown of Rancho Cordova, CA, one grandson, King Anthony Baker of Oakland, CA, mother, Wilma Lafferty and step-father Michael Lafferty of Columbus, AR, grandmother, Marjorie Thomas of Columbus, AR, brother Jason (Raamah) Johnson of York, PA, four nephews, Ayden, Jonathan, Noah and David Johnson of York, PA, three aunts Lois Hendrix of Tollette, AR, Carolyn (Fred) Gowan of Tracy, CA, Jessie Walls of Pittsburg, CA
