Melinda Hill was born August 24, 193 7 in Rayville, Louisiana to the late Godfrey Hill, Sr. and Melinda Badger. She attended Rayville High School where she enjoyed playing on the school's basketball team where she developed her jump shot. Melinda accepted Christ at an early age and attended Camp Ground A.M.E. Church and Bright Water A.M.E. Church. As an adult Melinda joined Mt. Sinai Christian Fellowship where she remained a dedicated member until she departed from this life. A lover of music, some of her favorite times were listening to her grandchildren sing in the children's church choir. Melinda was a faithful caregiver to those in need her entire life, earnestly devoting time and energy to the well being of the elders under her care. Melinda loved good food, socializing and spending time with love ones to offer advice. She also had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. When Melinda departed this life to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 3:09 p.m. at Norwood Pines Care Center in Sacramento, CA, her mother, father, sister-Evelyn Hill, brother-Godfrey Hill Jr., brother-Leon Hill, brotherCharlie B. Hill, Sister-Ernestine Staten, Sister-Catherine Hill, brother-Ricky Hill, all preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory: Five Children: Ricky Hill of Sacramento, CA., Paula Hill of Richmond, CA., Carla Hill of Sacramento, CA., Josh Lowery (Sonjhia) of Sacramento, CA., Terrell Lowery (Denise) of Sacramento, CA. A special daughter, LaShaun Acquaye (Percy). Thirteen grandchildren: Armondo, Danasia, Matthew, Trenise, Jershaun, Tiana, Merrell, Nia, TJ, Keonte, Promise, Nyah, DeAndre. Two sisters Orelia Perkins of Hayward, CA, and Ophelia Barnes of Monroe, LA. Three brothers, Willie James (Lois) of Monroe, LA., Ralph Hill of Houston, TX, and James Hill of Monroe, LA. One great-grandson, Ace, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
