Yolonda D. Johnson

Yolonda Denise Johnson was born in San Francisco, California to Barbara Johnson and John Surell on October 19,1957. Her elementary education was accomplished in Saint Patrick and Saint Emydius schools in San Francisco, culminating with her graduation from Notre Dame High School. In the early 1980’s she moved to Los Angeles and attended Cal State where she majored in telecommunication. While managing to excel academically she also accepted an employment position in Los Angeles. During her time in southern California, she gave birth to her beautiful daughter Erika Johnson in 1981. Yolonda moved back to the San Francisco-Bay in 1983, where her first employment opportunity was with Federal Home Reserve Bank. Over the next 20 years she was employed by several other companies in the Bay Area. In 2003 she moved to Sacramento and was gainfully employed by several different companies over a span of 13 years; the last five were with Delta Dental as a Shift Supervisor in the Telecommunications Department. She was a faithful church member of the Kingdom Dominion Ministries of Fairfield, California where the resident minister is Reverend Donna Heisser. She had a servant’s heart and a sincere passion to help people. She was the head usher, coordinator for the outreach ministry, and served in the ministries of helps for five years. Her hobbies were photography, computer animation and a love for travel. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Albert and Willie Lee Johnson and her brother Alvin Johnson, both of San Francisco. Yolonda leaves behind to cherish her memory; her mother Barbara Johnson, daughter Erika Johnson (Julian DeShawn Blackmon), uncles; Albert Johnson, Ken Johnson (Ellen) of Novato, CA, John Dickson (Gloria), and Flynn of Alabama. Aunts; Shirley White (Reuben), Rein and Dean. Cousins; April Johnson, Ken and Charlene Johnson, Melva and Darryll, Malcolm Johnson, Rodney Mitchell, Brenda Powell, Derrick, Sedrick, Tyron, Monte, Paige, Lauren, Ken-Ken, Justine, Zyree, Malcolm Jr. Cordy, Alisha, Darren, Darrian, Darius, Janay, Josh, and Thomas. God-children; Jordan, Briea, and Lamaya, and two step-daughters; Miyaki and Keishawan; and a very special friend, Sonya Brown. She also leaves a host of family, friends, and co-workers. Yolonda, you will truly be missed.
