Ms. Irma Leashore
Irma Yolanda Leashore was born August 22, 1952 in El Paso, Texas. She was the second of two children. Her parents Roman and Emma Castillo raised her in California, where she received her early education and collegiate learning. Irma was a devoted woman of Jesus Christ.
Irma was an advocate of higher learning and attended Sacramento City College and California State University at Sacramento, majoring in Criminal Justice. She enjoyed working in the Community of Corrections and became a Correctional Officer for the California Correctional Peace Officers Association. She later met and joined Clem Leashore, in holy matrimony before retiring from the CCPOA.
Irma had a passion for dancing, singing, event planning, interior design, antiquing, cultural artwork, live music, fashion, community service and mentoring. She engaged in all types of traditional and contemporary cultural dances. Not only did she participate in different dance groups within the community, she also encouraged and instructed youth groups to enjoy and appreciate the art form. Above ALL of Irma's passions, her dedication and devotion to helping her family, friends and anyone in need, was by far, her greatest joy! She never met a stranger and would truly welcome anyone with open arms and a Godly love! Irma believed her God given purpose on earth, was to help her family and friends thrive and excel in any way she could. Much like her soulmate Clem...Irma was by nature, a true mentor. Her family was her prized possession and her love of God was her motivation for being such a selfless human being.
Irma slipped peacefully into the hands of the Lord on February 7, 2018.
Irma joins her husband Clem in paradise, as they now dance together amongst the angels. She leaves behind sons, Jose III and Damon; daughters, Sommer, Mercedes and Sarah; grandsons, Jose IV, Marcus, Isaiah and Noah; grandaughter, Elena; brother; Salvador, and many other relatives, friends, brothers and sisters in Christ and special individuals whose friendships have continued through her life. Irma will be truly missed by all.
